Knowledge Knockout Week One!

                            The Knowledge Knockout

Here's what you've all been waiting for, Kevin O'Neill's debate question of the week. Take a look at it, then feel free to let your beliefs and arguments loose like hell hounds in cyberspace.

"Do Americans really believe in God? We tend to see the US as a religious country, but my sense is that the God we tend to worship is suspiciously user-friendly. Like Fox News, this God tends to tell us just what we want to hear. There is no Kierkegaardian mystery and stubbornness in God, no tempting of Abraham or tormenting Job. Because of this I believe that most so-called American Christians are at heart non-believers who have constructed a God of convenience to bolster their
own biases and political and social agenda."
